Jesselyn graduated from University of Wales, Aberystwyth. She has been practicing as a general litigator ever since.
Jesselyn regularly advises and has represented a wide range of clients which include SMEs, financial institutions, liquidators and shareholders. She has also handled matters involving debt recovery, breach of trust, strata management disputes and cross-border disputes between China and Malaysia.
Jesselyn also spent a short stint in a private equity firm as a private equity analyst where she was involved in an investment of a renewable energy company. With her legal expertise coupled with her business and financial acumen, she understands your business and strategizes her legal solutions to protect you from the legal and commercial risk, and maximize your upside opportunities.
- Acting for agricultural companies in disputes arising from joint venture agreements up to RM25 million
- Acting for a director of the largest marine and logistics services company in Johor in corporate disputes
- Advising and negotiating on behalf of a GLC and its subsidiaries on the terms of complex commercial contracts relating to agriculture and energy supply
- Representing Malaysia’s largest diversified conglomerates in contractual dispute in relation to acquisition and privatization of its subsidiaries involving a sum of approximately RM200 million
- Representing and advising property developers in relation to matters involving strata management, bumiputra property, contractual disputes and tortious claim
- Advising a purchaser in a M&A deal and conducting due diligence exercise on a target company in palm oil sector
- Obtained injunction to prevent creditors from presenting winding-up petition against a large infrastructure group with business focus on highway concession
- Intervened in a judicial management application on behalf of a multi-billion construction company as the largest creditor
- Assisted financially distressed companies to revive their business by way of corporate restructuring
- Obtained an order on behalf of a director of a shipping and logistic company to inspect the company’s accounts
- Obtained a pre-action discovery order against a statutory body for the purpose of initiating a lawsuit on unlawful interference of business
- Represented the residents of TTDI in a multi-party application against the usage of forest park land for housing development and successfully obtained an order to quash a development order granted by the Datuk Bandar of Kuala Lumpur
- Secured settlement in a cross-border aviation claim between the parties in Malaysia and China
